Prenatal Visits

Having a baby is one of the most exciting times in your life.  Nothing is more rewarding than the privilege of caring for this new life and providing an environment in which both you and baby will thrive and develop.  Choosing the pediatrician that can best care for your child is an important decision.  At Virginia Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine we share your joy and enthusiasm and look forward to partnering with you on the exciting journey of raising a child.

We offer individual complimentary visits for new and expecting parents to give you an opportunity to meet our physicians and get to know our practice before your baby arrives. We encourage you to make an appointment with us for your prenatal visit.  We also offer preadoption visits to review your adoption information.

Baby is on the Way!

If you are delivering at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, simply tell your doctor and your labor and delivery nurse that you have chosen us as your baby’s pediatrician. Our office will be notified of baby’s arrival. We will see baby within the first 24 hours and then an additional exam to discharge from the hospital.

If you are delivering at any other area hospital, please call our office on the day of discharge to make your first appointment.

The purpose of these visits, also called well-baby check-ups, is to chart the baby’s growth, check for concerns that may have developed after leaving the hospital and ensuring that the baby is getting plenty of good nutrition.  Regular check-ups help ensure that the baby is growing and developing properly and is in good health.

Remember to bring your hospital discharge paperwork even if we have seen you at the hospital.  It contains important information. Also remember this is a time for you, the parent, to ask important questions. Prepare a list before the appointment so that all of your concerns can be addressed.
